Diya FC’s Intercultural Football and Futsal Exchange Program in Kuala Lumpur
Diya FC embarked on an enriching Intercultural Football and Futsal Exchange Program in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from July 23rd to 30th.
The primary focus of this trip, beyond fostering intercultural understanding, was to develop grassroots football and futsal programs for both genders. This initiative is particularly important as grassroots sports development is an area that requires significant improvement in Pakistan.
During the final day of the trip, Diya FC participated in two engaging futsal workshops for girls, led by B-License coaches Ahmed Fuad of TOT Club and Richie Banks of City Stars. The coaches commended the enthusiasm and eagerness to learn demonstrated by both our girls and boys.
In addition to the workshops, Diya FC played friendly matches against teams from TOT Club, City Football Club, and Ombark Club. These matches were held on various surfaces including turf, grass, and futsal courts, providing our players with a well-rounded experience.
The clubs exchanged souvenirs, and Diya FC President, Dr. Sadia Sheikh, extended an invitation to the clubs and coaches to visit Pakistan. Ms. Sheikh, along with Vice President Naila Sheikh, expressed their gratitude to the clubs for the valuable matches and tips provided to our young footballers. Special thanks were also given to M. Nurain and Ms. Sidra for their efforts in making this trip possible.
The tour, lasting eight days, combined competitive play with intercultural exchange, making it a highly successful and memorable experience for Diya FC.
