With support of RIGHT TO PLAY & WOMEN WIN DWFC did a project in THARPAKAR TO EMPOWER WOMEN THROUGH FOOTBALL. The project took place from April to July 2018. Diya team leading by the Captain Ms Rukhsar Rashid and the Founder & G. Secretary Dr.Sadia Sheikh, visited Tharpakar no of times to make this an historical event.The COACHES (Male Teachers of Tharpakar Schools) were trained before the children. Then a combined practice for both Coaches and players were held. Aside this workshop on health and hygiene were given to the mothers and elders of the nearby villages. The girls seem shy first but being with female mentors made them comfortable.

DWFC organize first ever FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT in THARPAKAR after giving the training camp for three months to the girls. DWFC  held trials to select 40 girls from 5 schools to participate in the tournament . The trials were conducted by Diya Women’s Football Club and witnessed by members of the SECMC Community including management. A purpose built ground was used with goal posts donated by the Right to Play project. All selected girls and coaches were provided with football, kit bag, t-shirts, pajamas, shinguard, shoes, water bottles and socks. Also Before the tournament each girl with be provided with a complete uniform: t-shirts, pajamas, socks, shoes and shin guards.

In the Closing ceremony, cash prize  were distributed in the girls along with Medals and Trophies for 1st Position, 2nd Position, 3rd Position and Fair Play. 

After the success and positive response from the community DWFC organized 1st All Sind Inter District G-13 Football Tournament in Tharpakar, December 2018 and all the district of Sindh participated in the Tournament. In the Opening Ceremony DWFC Founder & G. Secretary Dr. Sadia Sheikh promised to select two girls from Tharpakar village and give them a International Exposure in 2019. This was the second step by DWFC in THARPAKAR Football Diaries.

By the Grace of God the time has come and DR. SADIA SHEIKH FULLFILLED HER PROMISE AND SELECTED 2 GIRLS FROM THARPAKAR VILLAGE, MS DEVI JHANJHO AND MS JAMNA MOORO FOR UPCOMING GOTHIA YOUTH WORLD CUP CHINA 2019.

DWFC adopted these 2 Girls for the practice camp in Karachi for the Youth World Cup and were treated as daughters and sisters. They were taught life skills, personal grooming, self-care, health, hygiene and well being. 

DWFC hired care taker for girls. They were introduce to english food and how to use folks and knife to eat it. They were introduced to different culture foods and the proper way of eating. They were introduced to feminine needs hygiene and personal care. Why we need to brush our teeth twice a day how important it is to change our dress and sleep in the sleepwear. how dangerous hair lice are to our health. Why milk, dates and fruits are important for a healthy life and they were forced to drink it everyday and so on.

DWFC aim is Women Empowerment Through Football and we are honored and proud that they will be a part of DWFC TEAM IN GOTHIA CUP CHINA 2019.
